Bright, floral, and refreshingly crisp—this washed offering from Musa Abalulesa is a beautiful expression of high-elevation Western Ethiopia. In the cup, you’ll find notes of peach, pear and Red Delicious Apple - with a gentle sparkling, peppery acidity.
Producer Musa Abalulesa's farm sits just outside the town of Beshasha in the Goma District, where he works alongside his brothers on family land deep in the forest. That forest once served as refuge for their father, a resistance fighter during Ethiopia’s military regime. Decades later, the land was granted to the family, and Musa has turned it into one of the most admired smallholder coffee farms in the region.
He’s been using sustainable practices for years, planting avocados for shade, raising bees, and hand-pulping his coffee with precision. His care and commitment have earned trust not just from buyers, but from Ethiopia’s seed banks, which rely on Musa’s meticulous selection and processing to supply other farmers across the highlands of Ethiopia.
Ethiopia is a coffee powerhouse where 15% of the citizens of Ethiopia are employed in the Coffee industry. It’s the birthplace of the plant, the seventh largest producing country in world, and one of the world’s leading consumers of coffee as well.
